"I think renovating or creating a new home can seem to be an intimidating process. Too many choices!  Too many decisions to make! I want the process to have ease, organization and be enjoying."

Mary Hickey is a respected name in interior design in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, with additional projects in, but not limited to, Naples, FL, Palm Desert, CA, Scottsdale, AZ and San Francisco, CA. Mary Hickey Interiors services include work in residential design and decoration. Collaborations in new construction and renovation projects include working from the blueprint stage through specifications to installation.

Mary’s passion and imagination for all things interior started at a young age from spending summers in her Grandmother’s beautiful lake home and gardens. There she gained a natural understanding of how a house should function and be attractive. She gained her disciplined approach through a degree from St. Catherine University, and courses at the University of Minnesota in interior design and business.

Experienced in both traditional and modern aesthetics, Mary approaches projects and clients individually with the goal of creating a particular vision for each client that is not defined by a signature look or design trend. The result is a layered, comfortable home of rooms that are versatile and “age well.”

"I’ve always considered interior design an intimate relationship.  I feel fortunate to be invited into the homes of our clients to help create beautiful interiors together.  The design process, attention to details, and execution of a project are equally thrilling and rewarding for me."

While on family road trips as a young girl, Annie brought along pencils and graph paper to “space plan” her bedroom and executed the design upon returning home!  This desire to combine her enthusiasm for interiors and math continues to this day in her love of details and symmetry in her designs. She graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Minnesota, College of Design and turned her internship into full time employment at the Scherping Westphal showroom in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Annie spent nearly a decade with the showroom and had the opportunity to cultivate some of the industry’s best textile, furniture, and lighting sources.  She learned the “business“ of design and grew through being a part of opening of two additional showrooms within the Scherping Westphal company.

In 2016, Annie joined Mary Hickey Interiors as an Interior Designer/Project Manager.  When she is not in the studio or on a job site, she enjoys creating her new home with her husband, Joe, gardening with the help of her mother’s green thumb, and entertaining on china passed down from her grandmother.
