The time for a throw.

I recently read an article where the designer revealed that she always includes a throw blanket on a bed so that people can “nap without destroying the bedding.” It may seem obvious, but being the tidy person that I am, I love that logic. As the temperatures drop here in the Midwest, we are further reminded of the usefulness of a little extra warmth. Even if your home heating system is doing its job, who doesn’t like the idea of cozy-ing up with a good read, a hot drink and a comforting throw?

Aside from their function, throw blankets can provide additional texture in a room and contribute  a “lived-in” feel to both formal and informal interiors. My favorite has a nubby texture, similar to this one below from West Elm. Whether its cozy cashmere, luxurious (faux) fur or organic cotton, there’s a throw for everyone!
